CUMMING, Ga. — Two Cumming Police Department officers received recognition at the May 17 Cumming City Council meeting. Cumming Police Chief Scott Burgess and Mayor H. Ford Gravitt recognized a new reserve officer in the ranks.

Officer Jonathan Clapp received his certificate for completing field training and will become a full member of the department. Clapp, who will serve as a reserve officer, has had the same training as a full-time officer.
"They do a lot of work with us," Burgess said.
There are 14 full-time officers and five reserve officers in the Cumming Police Department.
