ReserveCop.Com™ Surveys Are Important

E-mail Print PDF

The Council for Law Enforcement Reserves' number one priority is to promote and create equality for RLEOs. To do this, we need an accurate and current national census of our law enforcement programs, people, and their backgrounds.  These statistics are vital to the telling of our story - the law enforcement reserve story.

ReserveCop.Com™ has two classes of members:  the Reserve Law Enforcement Officer (RLEO); and, the Reserve Law Enforcement Program (LERP).  As important as it is for individual RLEOs to sign up, it’s also very important that agencies with reserve programs participate in ReserveCop.Com™, as well.  Membership is free—it costs nothing.

By joining ReserveCop.Com™, agencies with reserve programs get recognition.  This can be helpful in recruiting, since RLEO candidates will visit ReserveCop.Com™ to find available reserve programs that they can join.

Another aspect of recruiting and retention is that with ReserveCop.Com™ survey data, the Council for Law Enforcement Reserves (CLER) benchmarks agencies.  Through the agency survey, Member Agencies are accredited by CLER as either recognized reserve programs (RRP), professional reserve programs (PRP), reserve program award of excellence (RPAE), or receive the distinguished agency award(DAA).  These designations give the agency an instant benchmark from which they can gauge their program’s evolution with other LER programs in their region and with best practices and policies nationally.

A key part of ReserveCop.Com™’s mission and CLER’s advocacy and support responsibilities is the collection of agency data to provide progressive law enforcement leadership with ideas, precedents, policies and procedures that can be considered for local implementation.  The ReserveCop.Com™ Agency Survey itself is an assessment tool that provides an insightful list of best practices.

We are delighted to work with you and discuss your agency’s ranking, and what steps will improve your ranking.  Even within a ranking, we can tell you where your agency stacks up regionally, and nationally.  For the first time, reserve law enforcement has a national reach and a national perspective.  We hope that you’ll take advantage of these unique resources here at ReserveCop.Com™.  Email us with your questions: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
