This section features Agencies with Law Enforcement Reserve Programs (LERPs) that are accredited by the Council for Law Enforcement Reserves. Accreditation is achieved when each Agency completes the LERP Survey found in the Member Services area of the ReserveCop.Com™ website. Once completed, the survey will be evaluated by CLER™, and a ranking will be designated for the Agency.
There are four possible rankings:
RRP Recognized Reserve Program
PRP Professional Reserve Program
RPAE Reserve Program Award of Excellence
DAA Distinguished Agency Award
Accredited LERPs must be State accredited law enforcement agencies that meet all of the certification requirements of their State’s law enforcement certification authority. CLER™ accreditation requires an active LERP with participating RLEOs. RLEOs must be sworn law enforcement officers with full police powers. It is CLER™’s goal to maintain a complete national census of all certified LERPs. Through CLER™ and RCC, it is our goal to assist all LERPs with our goal of continued professionalization of our nation’s law enforcement reserves.
Once accredited, the Agency becomes a member of CLER™. There is no cost for CLER™ accreditation. CLER™ appreciates the leadership, dedication, resources and support that Agencies provide to serve their RLEOs.
As a member, CLER™ accredited agencies have access to the Council’s proprietary data on LERPs within their home State. Agencies also have access to CLER™ for advisory services and advocacy support. We can help you prepare position papers, presentations, or serve as an third party SME for jurisdictions considering establishment, continuation, or expansion of LERPs.
Agency Rankings may change over time as reserve programs mature, expanding capabilities and operational involvement. To improve your ranking, take the time to routinely review and update your Member Survey.
