We’re the one-stop shop for reserve cops. This means that we will do everything we can to promote reserve law enforcement, and to recognize our members and agencies.
The reserve law enforcement community is unique for a number of reasons. Our individual RLEOs typically buy their own equipment, uniforms, accessories, weapons and ammunition. For many of these buying decisions, they have a great deal of discretion.
RLEOs are also typically more mature (i.e., older) and often professionally established in their careers. Their participation in law enforcement is borne out of genuine commitment and passion. They go the extra mile in training, personal development and in professional resources.
In summary, we’re a constituency that should have everyone’s attention. Reserves, by our very nature and mission are in the background. We’re not vying for promotion, and we won’t get the Chief’s job. But what we will do is provide institutional knowledge, continuity, a proven talent pool and a proven resource when the big missions come “calling.” We’re the force multiplier. We’re the extra presence in the community. We’re respected law enforcement advocates. We bring skills to our agencies that are not found in the FTE law enforcement community, from physicians and RNs, to engineers, lawyers, master mechanics, journeyman craftsmen…it’s a talent pool that’s available at the right price and for the right reasons. Reserve law enforcement is as patriotic as reserve military service—and many of us are veterans, too!
Thanks for reading this. Thanks for visiting ReserveCop.Com™. And, thanks for your service!!!
